Yati gave a guest lecture by invitation of the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht on Tuesday, 8th November 2016 as part of HKU's International Week, focussing on techniques and context in composition and improvisation to screen. The guest lecture took place at HKU's new campus in Utrecht and included a tour of their fantastic new recording facilities! Perhaps new collaborations there will be in the works....

Yati is finishing up scoring for a new series of short trailers highlighting the best film work by students and staff of the Scottish Screen Academy, in partnership with Edinburgh Napier University and the Edinburgh College of Art. Stay tuned for the results!
Yati was invited to the Varna World Festival of Animation to give a public workshop on music in animated film on 10th September 2016 in Varna, Bulgaria. It was an opportunity to discuss aesthetics, research on the implications of music/sound and animation and improvisation with a large group of animators and industry professionals. Yati also discussed his work with Joan Gratz on Fluxsound (2016) and other animated projects. A wonderful festival!
Yati was invited to work with the composition and composition for screen students as a guest lecturer at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary between 5th-7th Sept. 2016. It was an opportunity to display Yati's work, research into improvisation and composition for screen, and workshop various new techniques. A great experience!
