Launch of the new MSCN Film Music Festivals Academy in Zurich!

Zurich Film Festival/Soundtrack_Zurich

MSCN Film Music Festivals Academy launches at the IMMSANE Europe taking place as part of the Zurich Film Festival/Soundtrack_Zurich_3 at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) on 30th September 2022!

This new media music education initiative will be presented to students and staff at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), along with festival delegates and members of IMMSANE from 1:30pm in the Toni Areal, Pfingstweidstrasse 96, 8005 Zürich.

The MSCN Film Music Festivals Academy, directed by Dr. Yati Durant, is a unique initiative to support media music professionals and recent graduates to introduce their work to industry professionals and the festival-going public at leading European film music festivals. This programme focusses on improving the professional qualifications of aspiring media music composers through online group sessions, intensive 1-2-1 mentorship sessions and active projects in collaboration with the leading European film music festivals. The aim is to create a faultless portfolio of media music skills tailored to your individual abilities, then to develop effective interpersonal skills, networking skills and apply these at a major festival to kick-start your career. Through in-depth mentoring, you can work intensively on your technical and creative “blind-spots” while improving your general media music compositional skills.

Please contact Dr. Yati Durant for more information and an invitation: info@mscnfilmmusicfestivalsacademy.com.

Presentation and reactive visuals performance at the Audio Leak Symposium at the Berlin School of Sound on 15th July

Yati is presenting his research and a presentation on the concept of “audio leak” at the Audio Leak Symposium at the Berlin School of Sound on 15th July 2022.

The workshop symposium presents 8 researchers in the fields of audio, sound and visuals, and the day ends with a live improvisational performance. Yati will be “performing” the reactive visualisations to the live improvisational performance through an online-based system, utilising audio/visual synthesis and unique 2D/3D objects to “visualise” the the sounds from multiple sources from within and around the performance.
