Moderation of the European Talent Award and EEAMS at Soundtrack Cologne 14

As in previous years, Yati will moderate and head the jury of the European Talent Award for film score and sound design at Soundtrack Cologne 14 on Saturday, 26th August in Cologne, Germany. This award, now in its 14th year, has become one of the most prestigious compositional awards in Europe focussing on film scoring and sound design. The Jury-members are composer Claudius Brüse, sound designer Jef van Even, representing Chaussee SoundVision, music supervisor Robert Kraft, orchestra manager Corinna Rottschy as representative of the WDR Funkhausorchester and producer and CEO of Kontrastfilm Tidi von Tidemann.

Additionally, Yati will also head the EEAMS (European Education Alliance for Music and Sound in media) on Thursday, 24th August. This initiative is designed to share research, discuss pedagogic resources and issues and disseminate new ideas in teaching film music and sound design and it is by invitation only for colleagues in the HE field, professionals and their students.

Yati will be guest lecturing at Peking University, China on 13th - 14th July

Yati will be lecturing composition and music students on improvisation, composition and film composition from 13th - 14th July 2017 as part of a lecturing exchange between Peking University, China and The University of Edinburgh, UK. He will be hosted by Dr. Minghui Bi, Director and Conductor of the Chinese Music Institute Orchestra and the faculty of Peking University. 

Pixi Dust new performances at the SIREN conference, Reid Concert Hall 31st May 7:30pm

As part of a new collaboration with Jules Rawlinson, Yati will play a performance of Pixi Dust using two modular synthesisers and Pixivisor - a audio/visual feedback software that represent audio manipulations in analogue-style video at the Reid Concert Hall on 31st May 2017 at 7:30pm. The concert will be part of the closing event of SIREN conference 2017: Arts and Digital Practices and will be part of a larger research project in the near future. Saundaryalaharī 1 and Reflections: Duo Canon at the Reid Concert Hall, Edinburgh on 7th June 2017 8pm

The premiere of Saundaryalaharī 1, the first output of a new series of works dedicated on the poetic restatement of Śankarācārya, will be premiered along with a performance of Reflections: Duo Canon (2016) by renowned Genoa-based piano duo Biondi Brunialti at the Reid Concert Hall on 7th June 2017 8pm. The new work features two pianos along with electronic manipulation and interactive visuals performed together with Yati.
