Guest lecturing at Zurich University of the Arts

Yati is heading off to Zurich on 3rd October to guest lecture at Zurich University of the Arts. He will be working with film composition students on a project through January 2019 in which students work on their compositions using improvisation as part of the creative process. He will also take part in the Zurich Film Music Competition, working with the Tonhalle Orchestra and composer Cliff Martinez to help discover new and exciting talent across Europe. It will be an interesting trip!

Saundaryalaharī 2 at St. Cecilia's Concert Hall, Edinburgh on Monday, 24th September

Please join us for an evening of contemporary and experimental music for 4 players and electronics (with visuals). This concert involves contemporary composition, improvisation and computer music - all inspired by spiritualism in different ways. This ensemble performed (most) of these works by commission of Forfest in Kroměříž, Czech Republic in June 2018 and are invited to Edinburgh for this special occasion.

Collective Improvisation 10’

Moderation of the European Talent Award at Soundtrack Cologne 15 and direction of EEAMS

For the 3rd year in a row, Yati will moderate the presentation and head the jury of the European Talent Award for film score and sound design at Soundtrack Cologne 15 on Saturday, 25th August, 2018 in Cologne, Germany. This award, now in its 15th year, has become one of the most prestigious compositional awards in Europe focussing on film scoring and sound design. This Jury-members this year are WDR Funkhausorchester manager Corinna Rottschy, sound supervisor, re-recording mixer and CEO of Chaussee SoundVision Torben Seemann, composers Joseph Trapanese and Mathieu Lavoie and director Olga Chajdas.

Additionally, Yati will also head the EEAMS (European Education Alliance for Music and Sound in media) on Thursday, 23th August, 2018. This initiative is designed to share research, discuss pedagogic resources and issues and disseminate new ideas in teaching film music and sound design and it is by invitation only for colleagues in the HE field, professionals and their students.

Film music concert with Camerata ALMA on 25th July 8pm in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil

Yati will be conducting a concert together with maestro Reginaldo Nascimento, soprano Magdalena Durant and the Camerata ALMA at Tuhla concert hall in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil on 25th July at 8pm. Magdalena will be singing Mozart’s Exultate Jubilate and Yati will be conducting film music by Ennio Moriconne, Wojciech Kilar and Zbigniew Preisner!
